Featuring a "Map of Niagara Falls and Guide Table," plus 8 pages of explanatory text and a 16-page "story told in verse of a battle to the death in the waters of the whirlpool between Huron and Iroquois"--Dow, page 728. A portion of the verse section had previously appeared in the United States Magazine, October 1839 under the name "S. de V.," but credited to Cooper by Dow and WorldCat.
